Poverty… the trap..


There are many good articles out there illuminating and explaining the nature of what it’s like to be poor in America.  This is a good one, by Barbara Erenreich..  She wrote “Nickle and Dimed” many years ago, it was an experiment concerning living on minimum wage.  The book has major flaws in methodology, but the message is pretty clear — it’s hard to be poor.

and people judge you by the things you have, use, or drive...

BUT, and this is a big one, escaping the track of low-wage jobs is often impossible if you don’t look the part.. and you get judged if you look the part while on welfare/ EBT etc..
